Leading housing association wins coveted Whathouse? Award
Leading housing association Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing (MTVH) has won a coveted WhatHouse? award. The housing association, whose shared ownership brand SO Resi is behind the SO Resi Maidenhead development, was crowned ‘Silver’ in the Housing Association of the Year category during this year’s ceremony which took place at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Friday 19th November. MTVH was commended for its innovative approach to raising awareness of shared ownership and improving its customer experience.
The award celebrates housing associations who offer innovative solutions to support buyers to get onto the property ladder, provide affordable and social housing options as wide and as flexibly as possible, and demonstrate superior design and build quality without compromising on value for money. MTVH was judged based on its constant innovation to meet customer needs, including through its industry-leading research into the state of the shared ownership market in conjunction with Cambridge University, or its groundbreaking decision to overhaul its leasehold system both for future and existing shared ownership customers.[1]
Kush Rawal, Director of Residential Investment at Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing, comments: “We are extremely proud to be crowned Silver in the Housing Association of the Year category at this year’s WhatHouse? Awards. We have refused to let the challenges of the last year and a half hold us back, and instead have channelled our efforts into improving our service for both our current and future customers, including at SO Resi Maidenhead.
“This year alone we have achieved so much, from pioneering our first annual research report to implementing policy commitments aimed at boosting security and cutting costs for our shared owners. We have some exciting things to come over the next 12 months and beyond, and hope to continue to lead the charge in the affordable housing sphere.”
Now in their 41st year, the WhatHouse? Awards celebrate the very best in the property industry, showcasing housebuilders, housing associations and other property companies who have gone above and beyond. Leading members of the property industry attended the ceremony, which was presented by Clare Balding and Sir Chris Hoy.
SO Resi Maidenhead is located in Kingston Close, Maidenhead and offers a collection of two-bedroom apartments. Prices start from £85,000 for a 25% share in a two-bedroom apartment [full market value: £340,000].

Why joining a community of business leaders can enhance your reputation and credibility
I read a LinkedIn post recently that reassured business owners that if they’d managed to keep their businesses going during recession, Brexit, COVID and the cost-of-living crisis that they deserved a huge pat on the back and shouldn’t ‘beat themselves up’. Easier said than done when costs are rising and doing business seems to get harder rather than easier, but the sentiment was well-placed.
Why it’s important for Business Leaders to be exposed to new...
Nobody likes a ‘know it all’ and let’s face it, there’s no such thing. At the other end of the scale, many of us don’t create enough time to take on board new ideas, innovation and creativity in whatever format. How many times have you been recommended to read a book, get sent the link, go on Amazon, maybe even buy it but it just sits on your bookshelf? Come to think of it, as an aside, just think about that for a second….I wonder what the actual percentage of books purchased are actually read? Frightening thought!
