HR Ecosystem Provides B4 Members with a Safe Space to Discuss Sensitive HR Issues
B4 has launched a series of ecosystems to help Members discuss key issues with each other in a confidential space.
In association with our preferred HR provider, You HR, B4 Members met at B4 HQ to discuss a wide range of HR related issues they have experienced in their organisations.
Mel Noton of 4Thought commented. “The HR Ecosystem has so much to offer. I am not an HR expert at all, and so wondered if it was right for me to go…..it definitely is! HR is a complex world to people like me, so to be able to go to such a group, with approachable experts, and wide-ranging experiences from other attendees, is amazing. It’s such a great resource.”
Key takeaways
✅Expect the unexpected – learn from other people’s experiences to make sure that you have updated policies covering eventualities that might not have happened yet but if and when they do they will be more painful to address without an appropriate policy than with
✅Policies can make everything impersonal so need to ensure they are flexible for certain circumstances – you don’t need policies for everything because it can become too bureaucratic
✅Don’t forget that one person’s solution can be another person’s problem
✅Where is the line between HR and people outside of the business? For example, customers and guests who come to events – this is where HR meets Health & Safety
✅How do we empower our staff to make decisions ‘on the spot’ without stepping out of line?
✅HR is a strategic partner to the business which helps the business make strategic decisions for the benefit of the business – it is no longer just an admin function
