About
Founded in 1919, Plunkett Foundation is a UK-wide charity with a vision for resilient, thriving and inclusive rural communities. To achieve this, we support people in rural areas to set up and run a wide range of businesses owned by local communities, whereby members have equal and democratic control. In the last 20 years alone, we have supported over 750 such ‘community businesses’ to open including shops and pubs through to woodlands, farms and fisheries.
We provide community businesses business advice, training, and events. We also represent community businesses through research, policy and public affairs.
