Local Business Leader Announces Second Peer-to-Peer Vistage Group

The group is designed to help support businesses in the region following a challenging year due to the coronavirus pandemic and associated economic downturn. The group will follow Gordon’s successful, established ‘Survive, Reset, Thrive’ model and is currently accepting submissions from local business leaders.

“At this time, it’s important for businesses to continue to be as creative and flexible as possible,” said Gordon. “There are many difficult decisions to be made, and sometimes what you need are experienced leaders to help you make smarter decisions. This is especially important in the last 12 months where many CEOs and business owners have been forced outside of their comfort zone and required to develop new skills in a short period of time.”

Vistage is an organisation designed for business leaders who are looking to drive better performance and make smarter decisions. Independent research about performance through the major recession of 2008 revealed the effectiveness of peer-group mentoring in adverse conditions. The study showed that Vistage members’ businesses grew 5.8% in that period compared to non-Vistage member companies whose businesses declined by an average 9.2%.

The Vistage group will facilitate peer advisory group meetings, connecting like-minded Managing Directors and CEOs from non-competing industries and acting as an agent of influence to help members push their businesses forward. Gordon began his career in sales and buying within the retail DIY sector working for brands such as Dulux, Wickes and HSS Hire. As his career progressed, he moved towards consultancy becoming a partner specialising in the psychology behind successful negotiations.
