Reward, Recognise & Retain
How important is the well-being of your team to you? And what have you been doing as a business to ensure your employees are happy?
On this Business Brunch, guests James Lloyd from People Nudge Ltd, Sam Cranwell and Nik Roberts from Versantus, discuss how they have worked together to ensure their team is as happy and healthy as possible during the lockdown and how they have adapted to working from home.
Versantus helps organisations and businesses solve complex technical challenges and exceed commercial objectives. Owner Nik spoke about how as a company they have made it number one priority to ensure that all employees are looked after and properly cared for during lockdown. He made it clear that “making sure that everyone knew they would be looked after”, was very important and that if you look after your team they will look after the company.

Nik went on to talk about the pressures of being a manager and trying to bear the weight/deal with the pressures and stresses of managing a business. A key point he made was that “it’s important to have good people around you”, being able to offload and speak to the senior team at Versantus and peers in other businesses has massively helped.

1 in 4 people will experience bad mental health in their lifetime, and sadly this statistic is only getting worse. It’s incredibly important that companies take responsibility for the mental well-being of their employees and ensure that they do all they can to help provide the correct resources, equipment, and care that their team might need. Sam Cranwell spoke about how communication is key and that acknowledging “that these are extraordinary times” is very important.

James Lloyd spoke about how a lot of people feel a huge weight on their shoulders and pressure to produce high-quality work when dealing with other factors such as homeschooling. James highlighted that “helping people release the burden of guilt” will really help to remove the mindset of employees.
