B4 ONE: Equality, Diversity & Inclusion
A series of webinars focusing on the key issues facing an increasingly divided world.
Wednesday 25th November broadcast live from Ashmolean Museum
The B4 ONE series of webinars began with the topic of Workplace Wellbeing as the focus of discussion with a live broadcast from Blenheim Palace on 30th September. With well over 500¹ live and post event views of the webinar, B4 have hit the spot with their formula of crucial topics presented by experts captured in a live broadcast from Oxfordshire’s leading venues.
Next up, B4 ONE will focus on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion with a live broadcast from the Ashmolean Museum in the heart of Oxford. Wendy Ball, Head of Events commented, “We are delighted to be able to host the second B4 ONE livestream hybrid event at the Ashmolean Museum. As Founding Members of the B4 community, we have worked with the dedicated B4 crew for many years. We applaud their tireless efforts as ‘collaboration enablers’ and celebrate their bravery and adaptability in the world we currently find ourselves living and working in.
“We have already piloted a highly successful, safe and enjoyable hybrid event from the museum and feel confident in our ability to host Covid-secure corporate and private events and meetings from a Covid-secure venue.”
The subject of EDI is seen by many businesses as a challenge because it is such a huge subject. B4 ONE will focus on a wide range of subjects to help all of us understand the issues and move forward positively. Questions and solutions such as the following will be addressed by presenters during B4 ONE. How can you develop a diverse workplace? Why is diversity so important for all businesses? The potential challenges you may face in achieving workplace diversity. How to successfully develop a diverse workplace. What’s the impact of a diversity programme for a business? Does a successfully implemented diversity programme guarantee all employees feel included? What is diverse leadership? What does equality in the workplace mean exactly and how have some businesses created an environment of equality whilst prospering as a business? How can your business embrace diversity, equality and inclusion naturally without being accused of artificially constructing a ‘sign above the door’ without ‘practising what it preaches’? What are the ‘actions’ that ‘speak louder than words’?
B4’s Richard Rosser commented, “Hot on the heels of the B4 ONE webinar from Blenheim Palace, we’re bringing the hugely important issues which need to be addressed by all businesses today surrounding Equality, Diversity and Inclusion from the historic Ashmolean Museum. We’ve all witnessed a world under pressure, especially over the last six months, not just because of COVID-19 but also huge rifts in society across the world. At a time when we must all work together to overcome the virus and a crippling economic downturn, it’s vital that we’re all working towards a future which gives everyone, no matter who they are, an equal opportunity.”

Defining the journey towards diversity
Achieving a high standard of diversity in the workplace has become increasingly important – especially given the spotlight that has been shone on this aspect of business life by the recent global pandemic and the growing awareness of racial inequality around the world. For larger businesses there are also greater reporting requirements in this area from regulators and government.
