ABOUT JACQUI CANTON

“I am a proven and effective leader, who relishes a challenge and who has headed numerous change management projects in the education sector. Most recently, during my time as Deputy Principal at Abingdon and Witney College, I have transformed apprenticeship provision. Under my leadership, apprenticeship provision grew considerably, won numerous regional and national awards, and was judged to be ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in March 2017.

“Before starting at Abingdon and Witney College, I ran my own interim management consultancy company, during which time I worked at various FE colleges improving and growing apprenticeship provision in particular. During this time, I also led change management projects in various areas including student services, marketing and HE in FE.

“Prior to working in FE, I worked in the engineering sector running national apprenticeship and graduate development programmes, and I therefore have particular interest in developing bespoke apprenticeships and other training for employers.

“Other areas of previous responsibility and specialist knowledge include FE funding and MIS (including efficient and effective curriculum planning and delivery models), marketing, Higher Education, student services, student support, adult/ community learning and external income generation.

“I am passionate about developing people and enjoy identifying, coaching and supporting talented individuals to become leaders of the future.”
