Award-winning web-design and digital agency continues to expand by 50%
Oxfordshire-based web-design, software and app development agency Versantus, is delighted to announce two further hires, in addition to the company’s six new recruits since the beginning of the year.
Joining the team of digital experts is Jasper Mole as project manager, and Christian Fitz-Gibbon as senior developer. Both new team members have been appointed at a crucial time for the agency as it experiences record growth in spite of the economic downturn.
Jasper will be responsible for clients’ web development projects, ensuring that solutions to their complex, and often technological problems, are innovative, in line with their objectives, and completely user-friendly. He joins Versantus from an impressive background and transferable digital skills from Oxford Playhouse.
Christian – who has been working with Versantus as a contractor for some time – has now joined the agency as a full-standing team member and is leading as a senior developer on web design, software and app projects. Christian has a rich background in software engineering and joins Versantus on a full-time basis, with a wealth of knowledge in bespoke and complex enterprise solutions.
Nik Roberts, managing director at Versantus comments on the appointments: “Our success over this past year has propelled our business forward and enabled us to welcome and invest in new skills within our team. I’m proud to introduce two further hires, both with incredible amounts of experience and value for our clients. Christian and Jasper both join at an exciting time, as we’re on the cusp of huge growth. Our plans for 2021 are ambitious; we want to double in size within the next year, and having experienced heads like Christian and Jasper on our team will enable us to do that.”
2020’s coronavirus pandemic has shaken up the opportunities and job roles within the digital industry. This has fortunately presented Versantus with the chance to meet those with different skill sets to the obvious hires, and make some of its contractors more permanent.
“We’ve been able to look at our recruitment in a different way this year and hire on a much more flexible basis than normal. Jasper’s management skills from Oxford Playhouse are highly transferable and valuable to our digital projects. And Christian has brought an abundance of fresh ideas and approaches from his contract experience. To be able to help those in our industry “weather the storm” and offer a career at this time, is hugely rewarding for our whole team. With these additional skilled heads on board, we’re in a good position and have the capacity to continue to grow and expand,” adds Nik.

Greener websites: taking the green initiative in digital
Like all businesses, we’re working hard to reduce our environmental impact. The time for ‘business as usual’ is behind us, and at Versantus we want to help our customers reduce the carbon footprint of their digital assets. Of course there’s a moral obligation to look after our planet, but, if you rely heavily on digital channels to do business, there’s a financial benefit too.
Women in Tech: our Senior Developer’s perspective
As a progressive organisation, we’re always on the lookout for diverse voices and upcoming talent; a diverse team brings different experiences and ideas, providing the opportunity for further learning, collaboration and improvement. But it’s impossible to ignore the limited representation of women and minority voices and glaring gender bias in the development world.
