Bike Oxford, now in its 9th year, is an event with real community spirit. Championed by Oxford City and Oxfordshire County councils as a way of encouraging active transport and healthy lifestyle, the event welcomes riders from all parts of the community, of all ages and abilities.
The event, one of the largest single day city sportives in the South of England, is held at Oxford University Rugby Club and comprises marked rides of 25, 45 and 79 miles, taking in the best scenery of Oxford and the surrounding countryside.
Registration is open, sponsorship opportunities are still available and local businesses are encouraged to take part. To that end, Breathingspace have provided this code ‘BO2022B4MEM10’ for B4 members to get 10% off and for them to be able to share it with their networks.
The event provides an excellent opportunity for team building, networking, client entertaining, general engagement of staff and clients, business development and corporate social responsibility, all whilst enjoying a great day out on the bike.
Iconic Cycling Events are collaborating with Wheels for All Oxford to ensure the Bike Oxford weekend will be a fully inclusive sportive event, possibly the first in the UK. There will be an adapted cycling event taking place on Friday 1st July 2022 at the Horspath Athletics track in a safe traffic free environment. With their extensive range of adapted cycles, tandems, side-by-sides, tricycles, recumbent bikes and even a wheelchair transporter, Wheels for All Oxford have something for everyone.
Bike Oxford has also partnered with Active Oxfordshire and Cyclox to spread the message of their Sanctuary Wheels project, which will provide free, refurbished bikes and tuition for hundreds of refugees across Oxfordshire. This includes, of course, the many refugees who are fleeing war in Ukraine and arriving now into the county. They will provide free, refurbished bikes, lights, locks, helmets and translated tuition so that refugees can benefit from being able to get around independently, access essential services and get to know their new communities.

The Better Business Ecosystem is raising awareness and showcasing the wide variety of ways businesses can have a more positive impact on society, communities and the environment, by embedding great business practices across their companies.
Why joining a community of business leaders can enhance your reputation and credibility
I read a LinkedIn post recently that reassured business owners that if they’d managed to keep their businesses going during recession, Brexit, COVID and the cost-of-living crisis that they deserved a huge pat on the back and shouldn’t ‘beat themselves up’. Easier said than done when costs are rising and doing business seems to get harder rather than easier, but the sentiment was well-placed.
Why it’s important for Business Leaders to be exposed to new...
Nobody likes a ‘know it all’ and let’s face it, there’s no such thing. At the other end of the scale, many of us don’t create enough time to take on board new ideas, innovation and creativity in whatever format. How many times have you been recommended to read a book, get sent the link, go on Amazon, maybe even buy it but it just sits on your bookshelf? Come to think of it, as an aside, just think about that for a second….I wonder what the actual percentage of books purchased are actually read? Frightening thought!
