Bill Taylor wins gold CIOB Construction Manager of the Year Award
The Chartered Industry of Building (CIOB) Awards showcase and recognise the achievements of industry professionals, teams, and clients in the built environment each year.
CIOB’s Construction Manager of the Year Award (CMYA) is one of the industry’s most prestigious.
At an event held in London last night (28th September) sixteen gold and silver awards were presented to celebrate the sector’s most talented Construction Managers in several categories.
Beard’s Bill Taylor was presented with a gold CMYA, in the Refurbishment and Restoration Category, for his role in the intricate extension of Radley College Chapel in Oxfordshire.
Bill joined Beard in 1997 as a Site Supervisor. He is now a highly skilled and experienced Construction Manager who has led the successful delivery of a number of flagship projects, including the extensive remodelling and refurbishment of the Law Library for Oxford University and a sustainable construction for the Earth Trust.
The £4m extension and reordering of the grade II*-listed Radley College Chapel was a project that Bill was passionate about from the start.
This unique and complex project was a once in a lifetime opportunity to work on a prestigious building and create something for Radley College that will be a legacy for their students and Beard for years to come. Collaboration and the collective determination of everyone involved to deliver exceptional quality was integral to its success. Our client, David Anderson, was a pleasure to work with. I appreciate the trust that Radley College put in me and the whole team to deliver the new building. To win the gold award was totally unexpected, but it is a great honour to represent Beard and the dedicated team that delivered this fantastic building. Thank you to Dean Averies at Beard for nominating me and to David Anderson for his support through the interview process.
