Blandy & Blandy Advises Software Badger Software Limited on its acquisition by Altia
Blandy & Blandy has advised Reading-based Badger Software Limited on its acquisition by Altia, a leading global provider of specialist intelligence and investigation software for government departments and law enforcement agencies across 18 countries.
Badger Software is the UK’s leading supplier of software for dealing with Crimes in Action and Critical Incidents and develops covert and overt solutions for UK and international law enforcement, as well as the commercial sector.
Badger Software founder and MD, Rob Brigham, will join Altia as Head of Crime in Action Solutions.
He said: “We are incredibly proud of what we have built here at Badger Software, in particular the market leading CLIO software and the fanatical support that we receive from our loyal customers. Joining the Altia group adds significantly to our capability and provides a fantastic opportunity to grow, not just within the United Kingdom but also overseas.”
“We have known Altia for some time and share many customers. Their reputation in the market and focus on great customer service meant that they were the obvious choice for us to work with. Together, our complementary products will create a complete solution for managing all manner of incidents and investigations. The ambition and values we found at Altia make this an exciting venture which will ensure better outcomes and greater efficiency for our customers.”
David Few and Emma Ford, in Blandy & Blandy’s Corporate & Commercial team, advised on the deal.
Rob Brigham added: “We already knew some of the people at Blandy & Blandy, from an office lease which they very successfully negotiated and concluded 18 months ago. When it came to a sale of the business, it was even more important to us that we had a team which we felt comfortable working with, and who would help us through what we expected could be a complex and potentially stressful process, and something which none of us had any experience with before. As soon as we spoke with David and Emma, we had every confidence that Blandy & Blandy would be the right team for us. From beginning to end, the team’s experience and ability were extremely useful and they deftly guided us to an outcome which we were very pleased to achieve.”
