Celebrating the B4 community on International Women’s Day
International Women’s Day (IWD) is this Saturday and we are celebrating some of the wonderful women in the B4 community in a series of articles. Here we spotlight Members from The Oxford Trust, High Spec Composites, Sobell House, B4, Nicholsons and Survivor Space Oxfordshire.
Georgina Matthews, Director of Communications, The Oxford Trust highlighted the work that Nicki Campling is doing to bring out the best in others. “International Women’s Day celebrates the achievements and contributions of women worldwide who are promoting gender equality. Nicki Campling, Director of Innovation & Operations for the Oxford Trust is one of these women. She is a passionate leader dedicated to empowering individuals, driving innovation, and fostering an inclusive workplace. Her superpower is empathy – and she uses this to inspire positive change.”
Matt Jaycock is MD of High Spec Composites and wanted to celebrate his wife Sarah. “Sarah, leading High Spec, is a role model shaping the future for women in engineering and advanced manufacturing. Beyond Composites, she advocates for women in STEM, promotes apprenticeships, and supports local businesses highlighting those who push boundaries and achieve success.”
Amelia Foster, CEO at Sobell House Hospice, highlighted the amazing work that Relationships Fundraising Manager, Nikki Gracey does for the charity. “Nikki works tirelessly and with such enthusiasm and drive to support all that we do at Sobell House Hospice Charity. She advocates for us brilliantly, always with a smile and a can-do attitude. Whether it’s driving the minibus, baking a cake for a competition, speaking in front of 150 people or networking with our corporate supporters, Nikki is always inspiring.”
B4’s CEO, Richard Rosser, spotlights mum Sue who works tirelessly behind the scenes at B4. “Mum is our hidden treasure. She loves working for B4 – at least that’s what she tells me! – and we couldn’t be luckier to have her on the team. Mum really enjoys coming to the events and it’s great to see her get on so well with the other Members. She’s had a tough year but she’s always smiling and has incredible strength, without ever complaining and is a real inspiration to me, family and friends every day. As strong women go, you won’t find anyone more resilient than mum.”
Having celebrated two of her colleagues in yesterday’s IWD articles, this time it’s the turn of Nicholsons Managing Director, Liz Nicholson, to be on the receiving end of the plaudits from her Nicholsons Green Team. “Liz is an inspirational woman in the environment sector who wholeheartedly puts people and the planet first. Her efforts to grow Nicholsons sustainably are always centred around providing the best experience for her clients and Nicholsons Green Team.
Liz’s biggest strength is her generous spirit, continually looking for ways to celebrate others. Her work in the creation of ‘elemental’, the green design tool, is a prime example of her passion for supporting others in the industry for the betterment of the planet.”
Survivor Space Oxfordshire CEO, Lauren Kendall, wanted to celebrate the work that her brilliant team do for the charity. “The amazing team at Survivor Space are all inspiring women that work tirelessly to support survivors of sexual violence. They empower other women on a daily basis and provide the safe space, healing and hope that survivors of sexual violence need. Together, they tackle challenges with resilience and determination, inspiring one another to reach new heights. Their unity and shared vision create a powerful force for positive change.”
Keep an eye out for more inspirational women from the B4 community who feature in our other IWD2025 articles.

The Importance of Challenging Conversations in the Workplace
In March the People Ecosystem was lucky enough to be joined by Sally Naunton, CEO of The Bray Group. Having worked with Sally to help unpick some work challenges, I know she has a brilliant blend of being caring whilst expecting high performance and not shying away from the space that’s about tricky conversations. I spend a lot of time helping clients in this space which is why I wanted to get stuck into the subject of feedback, particularly when it feels uncomfortable and is about poor performance.
