COEL delight the team at Biofidelity
Since founding in 2019, Biofidelity have received much recognition for their ground-breaking work developing cancer diagnostic tests that can be carried out in labs across the world.
With funding established and plans to expand the team, their workplace needed to be adapted to accommodate future growth.
The COEL team designed and fitted out their open plan office space, meeting rooms and labs. Employees needed laboratory space which would allow them to excel in their research and external break out areas to allow them to come together as a team and engage with one another.
Bold signage has been installed in the reception area ensuring an impressive visitor experience and to convey strong brand identity. There are individual meeting rooms running off the reception and a hallway leading to the main communal area which houses kitchen facilities and a breakfast bar. A wide window wraps around the back wall providing a panoramic vista and bringing daylight in. This space can be used for lunch breaks, informal meetings, or presentations.
The labs were designed, complete with lab benching installed with plumbing and power. Access control was provided for and the mechanical operations were reviewed, resulting in an updating of the HVAC system, and installing new fire alarms.
Employee comfort and wellbeing was prioritised; lockers and a storage hall were installed; an external bicycle compound was built, and a drying room was developed for a pre-existing shower room to accommodate employees who wish to cycle to work.
Biofidelity headquarters have been designed to promote employee cohesion, allow for growth and to support the invaluable research that they are renowned for.
“The team at Biofidelity are delighted with the work that COEL recently provided for us.
The finished fit out and design exceeded our expectations and has provided us with a fantastic space which supports our research requirements and provides us with communal areas and meeting rooms for us to get together as a team.”
Dr Barnaby Balmforth, CEO and co-founder of Biofidelity.

COEL gives Wren Therapeutics a fresh contemporary look
Wren Therapeutics strong growth led their expansion into further lab and office space within the Department of Chemistry. The design and fit-out needed to be sympathetic to the requirements of their laboratory-based research and development, as well as being sympathetic to basement environment and associated natural light levels.
