DEADLINE TO ENTER OXFORD BUS COMPANY ‘BRAND THE BUS!’ COMPETITION EXTENDED
Oxford Bus Company has extended its deadline for good causes to enter its Brand the Bus! competition.
It has extended the time good causes have to enter by four weeks, taking the deadline to submit entries to November 1st at 23.59. The public vote will now close on December 1st. The 10 entries who receive the most public votes will be shortlisted and the winners will then be selected by a panel of judges.
The competition offers local good causes and charities the opportunity to have an Oxford Bus Company bus emblazoned with its branding in a package worth £30,000. People can then vote for their favourite good cause to win the unique opportunity.
This year Oxford Bus Company made the process to enter easier resulting in a big increase in entries, with 34 so far and to give more good causes the chance to get involved the deadline to enter has been extended.
Luke Marion, Oxford Bus Company Interim Managing Director said: “We’ve had a fantastic response to this year’s Brand the Bus! competition as more good causes continue to recover from the pandemic. The deadline to enter was due to expire, but because there has been so much interest, we decided to extend it to maximise the opportunity for more charities to get involved. I’d encourage local good causes to enter this great opportunity to enhance their profile locally.”
Prizes will be awarded to the competitors who have, in the panel’s opinion, fulfilled the brief to the highest standard. The winning organisation will be invited to work with the Oxford Bus Company to design a bus wrap featuring the brand colours, logo, and messages of the good cause. Runners-up will receive support via digital on-board bus advertising worth £2,000 to the runner up and £1,000 to the second runner up.
Girl Guiding Oxfordshire won the inaugural 2019 Brand the Bus! competition, Home-Start Oxford scooped first place in 2020 and Blue Skye Thinking won the 2021 contest. Abingdon Riding for the Disabled Association was also awarded the space on a bus rear as runners up in the 2021 competition. This year mental health charity Restore won first prize and Be Free Young Carers came second.
