Activate Learning is delighted to be welcoming visitors and showcasing our extensive range of programmes at Banbury and Bicester College during our Autumn Open Event on Saturday 20 November 9:30am-12:30pm.
There’s plenty to see and do when you visit us at our campus on Broughton Road, including:
· Meeting with current students and learning more about college life
· Learning about our selection of GCSE, business, accounting, travel and tourism and Access to Higher Education programmes
· Building a skeleton and taking part in four interactive activities in our Health and Social Care facilities
· Discovering what it takes for a career in childcare and health and social care
· Interacting with creatures and critters in our Animal Management centre
· Attending our hair styling, facials, manicures and media makeup demonstrations
· Seeing creativity come to life in tours of our art and design workshops, dark room, practical exhibition space, 3D workshops, TV studio and cinema room
· Watching a screening of our current student’s film project
· Getting involved in a game of table tennis with our sports and exercise science students
· Chatting to the Banbury United Football coach
· Working up a sweat in our public services drill and exercise routine
· Sampling delicious food and testing the culinary skills you could learn on our Heston Blumenthal inspired course
· Getting technical with an introduction to electronics and circuit work
· Inspecting and removing a tyre and raising vehicles using lifts at our motor vehicle centre
· Introducing yourself to the tools of the trade in our carpentry workshops
· Discussing how we can help you improve your English skills or support you if you have special educational needs
· Discovering apprenticeship options with one-on-one specialist sessions
Our staff will be available to discuss your options and plan out a learning pathway that works for you. Careers Advisors will also be on hand to chat with if you are undecided or need expert, independent advice. Our friendly Student Services team will be able to discuss bursaries and financial support that may be available to you. You will be able to explore our excellent facilities, talk through all your options and even submit your application early to make sure you guarantee your place for next year!
