Freeths introduces new Oxford service line with two new hires

National law firm Freeths has appointed Directors Caroline Benfield and Elizabeth Taylor, launching a new Restructuring and Insolvency offering in Oxford. They both join from Wright Hassall.

Bringing with them over 40 years of combined experience, both are highly adept at dealing with contentious and non-contentious matters relating to both personal and corporate insolvency cases.

Caroline and Elizabeth specialise in contentious, advisory and transactional work for Trustees in Bankruptcy, Liquidators and Administrators. They also act for a range of secured and unsecured creditors in relation to the enforcement of their rights, as well as for directors in relation to the defence of Insolvency Act claims and disqualification proceedings.

In their new roles, they will combine their bank of knowledge and work collaboratively with the national team to nurture the region’s new service line.

Commenting on the appointment, Partner and National Head of Restructuring and Insolvency Joey Byrne, said: “Caroline and Elizabeth join during a period of expansion for our team across the UK. Both bring with them a wealth of experience, which will be invaluable as we establish this new offering in Oxford. Their presence will help strengthen our national capabilities as we continue progressing with our growth strategy.”
