HR consultancy secures future at Witney Business & Innovation Centre

An Oxfordshire HR consultancy empowering individuals to take control of their own happiness at work is looking forward to a bright future at the Witney Business & Innovation Centre (BIC) after securing funding following a Dragons’ Den-style pitch.

Work-Happy, a self-development platform which empowers individuals to take accountability for their overall happiness and wellbeing at work, successfully secured substantial investment at the Investor Showcase Pitch Event run by Oxford Investment Opportunity Network.

Anna Cleland, CEO of Work-Happy, said her business is flourishing since moving to the Witney BIC in April 2018.

She said: “By working in this building and being part of its community we’ve been able to create opportunities which have helped to secure our future. As a result of our move to the Witney BIC we were invited to pitch at the event held at Blenheim Palace and although we didn’t win we were introduced to potential investors and secured a substantial amount of funding to allow us to continue to help create happy and fulfilled workplaces.

“When people are happy and fulfilled at work they feel content and are ready to be engaged by their organisation.

“If in turn, the organisation gives happy people a purpose, a culture that enhances how they feel and a future to get excited about, the net result is that they will perform to their highest ability, go the extra mile and really contribute to the success of the organisation.”

Employees are given a unique online log-in which allows them to explore five key areas of work happiness and wellbeing and be more aware of what is having the most impact on them.

Alli Keene, Centre Manager, said: “This is an exciting time for Work-Happy, which has expanded and secured funding for the future as a direct result of making the move here 18 months ago.

“We are delighted they have chosen the Witney BIC as the base for their expansion plans and all of us at the centre are dedicated to supporting the growth plans of all our customers. We are always on hand to answer questions and help steer the way, if required.”

Witney BIC, which is managed by Oxford Innovation on behalf of Blenheim Palace, boasts office space for companies with between one and 30 workers.
