New programme on UK’s future of employment post COVID announced
Launching digitally during National Apprenticeship Week 7-13 February 2022 – AoA and ITN Productions Industry News are co-producing Apprentices: Connect, Engage and Inspire, a news-style programme, exploring the incredible UK’s apprenticeship landscape as the future of employment as we emerge from the pandemic.
Apprenticeships are available at many levels. From school leavers, individuals upskilling in their careers and complete career changes, there are a myriad of opportunities to choose from in most sectors. Apprentices: Connect, Engage and Inspire shines a light on the excellence of employers and apprentices, showcasing the businesses and sectors that are successfully integrating apprentices into their workforce and their latest innovations and unique approaches.
There are almost one million apprentices in the UK1 today and AoA has been founded to support, connect and help apprentices reach their full potential. The programme will hear from AoA thought leaders about why now is the time for apprentices to be heard, the benefits to a business, and why apprenticeships really are the future of employment.
Anchored by an ITN Productions presenter, the programme combines key sector interviews from industry voices, news items and inspirational sponsored editorial profiles inspiring businesses and the next generation of apprentices with first-hand stories of success. Premiering digitally during National Apprenticeship Week in February 2022, the programme will form part of an extensive communications campaign featuring AoA’s network and professional partners.
Sir Peter Estlin, Chair of the Association of Apprentices said: “We are delighted to be partnering with ITN Productions Industry News to showcase the incredible range of apprenticeships and the value they add to individuals, organisations and the economy. Apprenticeships enable people of any age or background to develop the skills and experience they need to thrive in their chosen career and we welcome the chance to promote their benefits to a national audience.”
Nina Harrison-Bell, Head of Industry News, ITN Productions Industry News said: “We are excited to partner with the Association of Apprentices to create a programme that raises awareness and understanding of the value of apprenticeships, not just for school leavers but for people of all ages who are looking to change career direction. We hope the programme will provide a platform to address existing stigma and help shift perceptions and narrative so that the UK can emerge from the pandemic as a leading skills economy.”
