Origin Invests £1.5million into Local Economy
Buckinghamshire-based manufacturer of doors and windows, Origin, is set to contribute up to £1.5million to the local economy within the next year as part of a local recruitment drive.
The company is currently recruiting for 26 roles in its High Wycombe head office and factory, with a further 60 jobs expected to be created within the next year. The roles offer a combined salary of up to £1.5million. With Origin looking to hire talented individuals from within the Buckinghamshire area, this investment will directly benefit the local community and other businesses within it.
The family-run firm is looking for ambitious, driven people to join the business, with roles from Software Developers and Sales Executives right through to Factory Operatives and Delivery Drivers all currently available. Each role offers a competitive salary, benefits, and development opportunities, plus the opportunity to be part of a motivational, fulfilling, and collaborative environment in which all employees are encouraged to thrive.
Origin was established in High Wycombe by cousins Victoria Brocklesby and Neil Ginger in 2001 and is now one of Buckinghamshire’s top employers. The business currently employs over 290 staff and has an annual turnover of £39million, with significant further growth forecasted for 2022. Despite its incredible growth, the business has maintained a family ethos, and each employee is treated as part of the ‘Origin family’.
The local recruitment drive comes as part of Origin’s exciting new growth strategy, which has seen a total of £6million invested in new premises, stock, and the improvement of current facilities. The investment in both people and processes demonstrates the business’s commitment to futureproofing itself against future economic uncertainties, including those relating to Brexit and COVID-19.
Daniel Baker, Managing Director at Origin, comments: “As a top employer in the county, we are proud of the important role that we play within the local community. So, we are delighted to be able to hire a host of new, talented individuals for exciting roles within our growing company. It is an incredibly exciting time for Origin as we continue to innovate and expand at an exponential rate and we are delighted to be taking more people with us on our mission to be the best manufacturing company in the world.”

About Origin
Origin is the UK’s leading manufacturer of bespoke aluminium bi-folding, sliding and residential doors and premium quality windows; complementary products that make up the Origin Home range.
The company was originally founded in 2001 when cousins, Neil Ginger and Victoria Brocklesby, found they could not get great aluminium folding sliding doors for their building projects. Their ambitious solution was to create a company capable of manufacturing the UK’s best quality doors, backed by uncompromising levels of service. The result was the Origin Bi-fold Door, a cleverly designed, beautifully made and exquisitely finished sliding folding door system that features a unique free-glide running system.
Since then, Origin has worked relentlessly to perfect the design and functionality of bi-folding doors, and to create and maintain the highly respected reputation for quality and service that it has today while introducing windows, sliding and residential doors to the range.
The window collection is made up of two systems – the Origin Premium Window (OW-80) and the Origin Slimline Window (OW-70).
The (OW-80) is the first of its kind to feature a stunning internal and external flush casement. It’s also the first ever window to offer Aerogel as an optional upgrade. Aerogel, a space age technology, can be combined with the Premium Window to significantly boost its thermal performance, achieving a certified U-Value of 0.9 and A++ Energy Rating. In 2018, Origin launched the slimline variant – the OW-70 – which features Origin’s slimmest sightlines to date. It was designed to provide Origin partners with an even wider range of high quality products to be able to offer their customers.
Origin introduced its Residential Door in 2016. Manufactured with a high-grade aluminium, there are 35 panel choices on offer that are available in over 150 different RAL shades. The Residential Door has been designed with heightened security and thermal efficiency in mind, with no compromise on kerb-appeal.
Origin also offers four different sliding door systems, to ensure it can cater for any property or renovation type. The Origin Artisan Slider (OS-20) and the Origin Patio Slider (OS-29, OS-44 and OS-77). The OS-20 features huge individual maximum panel sizes and sightlines of just 20mm for an incredible panoramic view. With the OS-29, OS-44 and OS-77, there are three sightline options available (either 29mm, 44mm or 77mm). The OS-29 is the slimmest system of its kind in the UK and provides the opportunity to maximise glass, which will allow an abundance of natural light to flood into your home. The OS-77 offers a slightly more traditional style with its larger sightlines, whilst the OS-44 brings the best of both worlds.
At Origin, personal service and attention to detail is everything. High standards of craftsmanship and uncompromising levels of service, together with industry leading initiatives, have positioned Origin as one of the UK’s leading home brands. This was officially recognised in 2020 when Origin was awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade.
As a British manufacturer, Origin has complete control over its operations, from sourcing through to design, manufacture and delivery, and always strives for the highest standards. This is apparent given its entire product range, excluding the sliding doors, became Secured by Design accredited. Rigorous quality testing at every stage of the manufacturing process means that everything that leaves the state-of-the-art UK factory is at a consistently high standard. This allows for an industry-leading guarantee of up to 20 years to be offered.
Origin is completely unique in its ability to be able to offer a ‘Your Lead Time, Not Ours’ zero lead time service on its bi-fold door and OW-80. This means that if the product is ordered in one of the popular colours on offer, then Origin will change its manufacturing schedule to be able to deliver for the day it’s been specified for – even if that’s for the next day.
As the business has continued to grow and diversify, the foundations of family ethos, pride and ownership in all stages of production firmly remain.
