Oxford Bus Company recognised for delivering outstanding customer experience
Oxford Bus Company has been confirmed as one of the UK’s most innovative and customer focused bus operators, in an industry-leading awards scheme.
The Route One Awards has shortlisted Oxford Bus Company for Best Use of Technology and Outstanding Customer Experience. The prestigious annual awards ceremony recognises excellence in the bus and coach industry.
Oxford Bus Company’s Airline service which connects Oxford with Heathrow Airport and Gatwick Airport was shortlisted for Best Use of technology. It recognised the successful implementation of an end-to-end electronic ticketing solution, which integrated the website and app to provide digital ticket booking and seat reservation technology, as well as growing cashless payment solutions.
The company was also recognised for its Outstanding Customer Experience for consistently delivering high standards of service. In the last annual Transport Focus Bus Passenger Survey report Oxford Bus Company was found to have achieved high ratings for overall satisfaction on its bus journeys. In short listing Oxford Bus Company, the Route One Awards recognised the company’s increased delivery of customer engagement via initiatives including new websites and community engagement events.
Luke Marion, Interim Managing Director of Oxford Bus Company, said: “This is a brilliant achievement and recognises the talented team we have who work hard to deliver an excellent service daily. It is also a reflection of the strategies we put in place to help us recover from the pandemic with a clear focus on renewing our commitment to putting our passengers at the centre of what we do by utilising modern technology.”
Helen Conway, Event Director of the Route One Awards, said: “After two years of disruption across the sector, we are delighted to host the awards again in November. As ever, the Awards seek to reward people and operators for their exemplary achievements at a fantastic in-person presentation evening where we can truly celebrate the best in our industry. It is a huge achievement to be shortlisted, and we wish all our finalists the best of luck.” The final takes place on November 2nd at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole where a total of 68 finalists will compete across 15 categories.
