OXFORD BUS COMPANY SHORTLISTED FOR EXCELLENT CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE ACCOLADE AT INDUSTRY AWARDS
The Oxford Bus Company has been recognised as delivering an excellent customer experience in the prestigious national bus industry award scheme, the UK Bus Awards.
It has been shortlisted as one of the top six bus operators in the UK in the Supporting the Customer Experience category in the awards. The award recognises bus companies that have introduced schemes that enhance the customers experience and improve the perception of bus travel.
Oxford Bus Company was shortlisted for the successful introduction of its Freeflow contactless payment solution across its network. It provided passengers with the means to simply tap on and off buses using contactless payment technology.
The price is the same as buying an adult single paper ticket on the bus and the daily price is capped. The awards ceremony take place in London next month.
Luke Marion, Oxford Bus Company Interim Managing Director, said: “This nomination reflects the hard work, service and dedication of our team to delivering an excellent customer experience for our passengers. It is also recognition of our commitment to embracing technology to adapt and ensure we maintain a first-class service.”
Alan Millar, Chair of the UK Bus Awards, said: “The shortlist of finalists represents the skills and talents of the industry. They range from small, family-owned businesses through to the very large multinational transport groups, including several entering for the first time. It’s pleasing to see our first in-person awards ceremony since 2019 will once again recognise and reward excellence across the board to find the very best in the business.”
Oxford Bus Company is regularly commended for its achievements in enhancing the customer experience, giving back to the community, and more. In 2017, we were awarded the UK Coach Awards Gold Award for ‘Making Coaches a Better Choice’ and Bronze for ‘Top Express Operation’. In 2019, we won the UK Large Bus Operator of the Year at the Route One Awards.
