Record Enquiries as First 20 Homes go on Sale at Church Farm
Developer Pye Homes has been ‘overwhelmed’ by the number of enquiries after putting the first houses at their new Church Farm site on sale.
The Oxfordshire-based home builders say it is the most in demand site in their history with extra customer appointments arranged to try and keep pace with the levels of interest. Three homes sold in the first day with more set to secure imminently.
Church Farm is being developed in partnership with Radley College in line with Pye’s ‘how we build principles’, based on the belief landowners have a social, economic and moral responsibility to deliver quality housing solutions of which its local community can be proud.
“The site is not officially open until November, so these pre-launch levels of interest in Church Farm have been unprecedented in our experience,” said Pye Homes’ Sales Director Danielle Simpson.
“We have had to add extra appointments to try and keep up with enquiries,” she added.
All the properties are being built utilising a mix of traditional, local materials including wood, brick and stone. All will be wheelchair accessible and accommodate future accessibility needs.
Pye Homes will also not be fitting fossil fuel boilers, instead moving to a more sustainable heating solution with solar panels and air source heat pumps.
The site will include 84 affordable homes; 21 of which will be shared ownership and the remaining 63 will form part of an affordable rent scheme, with 156 properties available to buy on the open market.
Indicative prices for two-bedroom homes start at £380,000, three-bedroom homes from £490,000 and four-bedroom properties from £675,000.
A local woman, who wants to downsize but stay close to her family, was among the first to reserve a new three-bedroom home.
“I’m local and I know the area very well. I’ve been looking with interest at the Church Farm development for some time; they’re good, very solid, well-built houses.”
In addition to providing much-needed, high quality accommodation in an area with a housing shortage, the new community is also helping the Radley Foundation, a charity set up to establish an endowment fund to enable talented boys to come to Radley and to financially support families unable to afford the fees.

Why joining a community of business leaders can enhance your reputation and credibility
I read a LinkedIn post recently that reassured business owners that if they’d managed to keep their businesses going during recession, Brexit, COVID and the cost-of-living crisis that they deserved a huge pat on the back and shouldn’t ‘beat themselves up’. Easier said than done when costs are rising and doing business seems to get harder rather than easier, but the sentiment was well-placed.
Why it’s important for Business Leaders to be exposed to new...
Nobody likes a ‘know it all’ and let’s face it, there’s no such thing. At the other end of the scale, many of us don’t create enough time to take on board new ideas, innovation and creativity in whatever format. How many times have you been recommended to read a book, get sent the link, go on Amazon, maybe even buy it but it just sits on your bookshelf? Come to think of it, as an aside, just think about that for a second….I wonder what the actual percentage of books purchased are actually read? Frightening thought!
