SCARY HALLOWEEN GHOST TOURS REVEAL OXFORD’S SPOOKY SECRETS
Oxford will be full of extra ghostly goings-on in the city at Halloween this year, via public ghost tours.
The Oxford Ghost Tour will deliver a series of interactive scary experiences in the city’s most haunted streets to celebrate Halloween. It is delivered by a professional actor in an authentic cavalier outfit. Launched last year by City Sightseeing Oxford, owned by Oxford Bus Company, the walking tour takes visitors through the most haunted and historic parts of Oxford city centre.
Guests on the tour will be treated to terrifying stories of gruesome deaths, hauntings and executions and might even see some ghosts too amid Oxford’s eerie narrow streets. The tours are back for Halloween and will run on October 28th, 29th and 30th. It will also operate on every Friday and Saturday in November. Each tour starts at 5.30pm from the City Sightseeing Oxford Visitor Information Point, High Street, Oxford.
To celebrate Halloween even better, City Sightseeing Oxford will be running a special event in their Visitor Information Point. From Friday afternoon until Monday 31st October, children visiting the location will be greeted by colleagues in Halloween outfits and treated to a sweet treat. There will also be a spooky cut out board for those fun pictures.
Clarisse Garcia, Retail and Tourism Manager at City Sightseeing Oxford, said: “The Oxford Ghost Tours have proved to be incredibly popular and to help make Halloween even more spooky in the city we’re providing three new tours dates and we’ll continue to operate the tours in November.”
Luke Marion, Interim Managing Director of Oxford Bus Company, said: “We regularly look at ways to improve what we can offer to attract people to visit Oxford. The ghost tour was originally launched as part of our diversification strategy and it’s fantastic to see go from strength to strength. Halloween is the ideal time to enjoy the Oxford Ghost Tour and experience the history and atmosphere of the city.”
Children must be accompanied by an adult on The Oxford Ghost Tour and tickets are available for adults, children, a family, two adults, two students, students and seniors. For more information please visit: http://www.theoxfordghosttour.co.uk
