Things keep going Bump in the Night in Oxford
Visitors to Oxford can experience the spooky secrets of the city again this summer, with the return of public ghost tours.
The Oxford Ghost Tour has announced its scheduled public tours will return for a limited period this month by popular demand. A professional actor delivers a unique interactive experience in an authentic cavalier outfit. Launched last year by City Sightseeing Oxford, owned by Oxford Bus Company, the walking tour takes visitors through the most haunted and historic parts of Oxford city centre.
It has been hosting private hire ghost tours in recent months and following feedback from customers has confirmed it will operate a series of public tours in August. The fantastic ghost tours will run on August 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 23rd, 24th, 25th, 26th, 30th, and 31st. Each tour starts at 6pm from the City Sightseeing Oxford Visitor Information Point, High Street, Oxford.
Designed to appeal to both residents and tourists, the tour guide, a soldier from the civil war, will tell stories of gruesome deaths, hauntings and executions amid Oxford’s eerie narrow streets.
Clarisse Garcia, Retail and Tourism Manager at City Sightseeing Oxford
