Whitley Stimpson shortlisted for more prestigious awards
The reputation of the team at accountants and business advisors Whitley Stimpson continues to grow after the firm was shortlisted for three more awards.
The business which has offices in Banbury, Bicester, High Wycombe, and Witney, has made the Mid-tier Firm of The Year and Payroll Team of the Year categories of the national Accounting Excellence Awards, and in the Apprentice Employer of the Year Awards in the local Cherwell Business Awards.
Director Jonathan Walton said: “It is fantastic for the entire team to have their efforts noticed by the industry at national level.
“It is no coincidence that we continue to be recognised amongst some of the biggest and best accountancy practices in the country as we strive to provide the best service for our customers as well as support for our talented staff.”
The Mid-tier Firm of The Year category focuses on five key areas – client excellence; staff retention; steady, managed growth; independence and the development of a digital transformation strategy.
Over the last year, Whitley Stimpson has continued to invest heavily in training and development and took on 14 new starters last November, taking its total staff to 91 while three new digital platforms have been introduced to improve efficiency, staff development and the quality of service to clients.
For the Payroll Team of the Year category, the firm’s seven-strong group of specialists have seen an increase in SME businesses among its 467 clients while the adoption of the new Iris software will drive growth in larger firms.
Staff are trained to be recognised by the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) and this year an additional CIPP qualified technician has been employed along with two trainees.
The Cherwell Business Awards, Apprentice Employer of the Year category focuses on companies delivering apprenticeship roles across various levels, looks for evidence of an inclusive culture in relation to recruitment, mentoring and career progression opportunities. It also identifies employees who have gone above and beyond in training an apprentice and how the apprenticeship programme benefits both the company and individual.
Whitley Stimpson supports apprenticeships to levels 2, 3, 4 and 7 across several areas of the business and has created a culture where learning and growth are at its core with a solid emphasis on training and development.
Earlier this year the firm was also shortlisted in the Association of Residential Managing Agents ACE awards in the Service Charge Accountancy Firm of the Year category and the Apprenticeship Employer of the Year section of the Cherwell Business Awards.
