Nancy has worked for Activate Learning since September 2018 starting as a Business Engagement Post increasing substantial industry placements with key employers for the Lifestyles Faculty.In November 2019 she was promoted into a Faculty Director’s position and has responsibility for faculty recruitment, income, work experience targets, employer engagement and launching of new study program, adult and leisure course provision. She also oversees the organizations Recharge cafeterias, and Activate Cycles Academy delivering Cytech Qualifications.
Key achievements include the launch of The Fat Duck Group Curious Culinary Program with Heston Blumenthal, Banbury United FC, Bracknell Town FC and Bracknell Cobras Sporting Academies, and is currently working on launching Level 3 BTEC in esports at Reading College for this September.
Passionate about bringing local businesses and education together, she joined the Banbury Chamber of Commerce in 2019 to help integrate the college curriculum, work placement and apprenticeships with employer-led opportunities in Banbury. Working with the A Better Connected Banbury Networking Group she has held successful events for local businesses to explain the changes arriving with the new T-Level qualification.
Prior to working in education, Nancy founded and ran her own sales consultancy business “Burgundy Information Services” targeting UK and European libraries with e-publications from international learned societies. Her career began back in 1998 at Blackwell Publishing where she was International Sales Director responsible for a global team as well as being committee member and treasurer for the United Kingdom Serials Group for 6 years.
