We were joined by Angus Horner, Director of Harwell Science & Innovation Campus in South Oxfordshire. Harwell is home to organisations, institutions and businesses shaping the world of today and tomorrow, a campus where world-class people work in world-class facilities to solve global challenges.
Angus is focused on providing real estate, marketing, collaboration, networking and other support to organizations, people and places inside the UK Knowledge Economy.
In 2013, Angus founded what is now the 50% private sector shareholding in the Harwell Campus Partnership, to help UK Government accelerate growth – e.g. from a working population of 4,700 to ultimately over 20,000 people, to generate major GVA impact in the UK economy. Angus is co-invested at Harwell with Business Partners William Cooper and Gordon Duncan, with whom he has worked for many years, including on the Pfizer project.
He is a firm believer in the power of research and innovation to deliver improved health, economic and social wellbeing. Angus also sits on Harwell’s Cluster Steering Board and on the HealthTec, Space and EnergyTec Boards.
