Advice on managing your employees situations during a business crisis with Jonna Mundy of You HR
Despite my 20 years working in HR, most as a ‘fellow’ of the CIPD, the current ‘unknown’ state of our society is troubling for us all. Nothing preceding can tell us how to try and navigate our way through such difficult times.
As a small business owner I want to share; my own experiences and HR expertise in how to lead workers through such time of crisis and drive the right outcomes; how to ensure acceptance, engagement and involvement to change that you need to put in place rather than feeling you are reacting to the immediate issues you face.
I will focus on vital areas like:
The importance of continually assessing business impact, maintaining continuity plans, adhering to process / statutory compliance, whilst maintaining governance; how, for small business owners and managers, keeping a watchful eye on everyone’s wellbeing is crucial to avoid burnout, health issues, dysfunction in teams, until we prepare to return, as best we can, to some form of business as usual.
In summary, how to:
Ensure you implement statutory obligations meaningfully and correctly
Maintain employee engagement with your business plans and intentions
Successfully manage your employees and lead by example during a time of crisis
