Boardman, Hawkins & Osborne Celebrates Top Tier Legal 500 Ranking
B4 Platinum Member Boardman, Hawkins & Osborne LLP is celebrating after being ranked Top Tier for Family Law in the Thames Valley in the 2027 Legal 500 rankings.
The recognition is a significant achievement for the Oxfordshire firm and reflects not only the expertise of its lawyers, but the approach to client care which runs throughout the practice.
Partner Ruth Hawkins said:
“We’re incredibly proud to be ranked Top Tier for Family Law in the Thames Valley.
“For us, this recognition reflects the expertise, care and commitment our team brings to every client and every case. Family law is about more than knowing the law, it’s about listening, understanding and helping people find practical ways forward during difficult times.”
That approach is echoed strongly in the feedback published alongside the Legal 500 rankings.
One testimonial describes the firm as providing “sensible, pragmatic, and practical advice”, adding that the quality of its solicitors is consistently high throughout the practice.
Another highlights an “above and beyond” approach to client care which extends beyond standard legal services, while further feedback praises the team’s responsiveness, communication and the way clients are prepared and supported throughout their cases.
Individual recognition for the BH&O team
The rankings also include impressive feedback for individual members of the team.
Ruth Hawkins is praised for bringing a “sensible, calm approach” to cases, lowering hostilities and focusing on good outcomes for families. She is also recognised for her work as a children’s lawyer and mediator, with particular praise for her compassion, empathy and ability to communicate with children.
Emily Boardman is described as a “sharp, analytical, and highly experienced lawyer”, with further recognition for her determination in difficult family law situations and her considerable knowledge of adoption matters. BHO BHO
Irena Osbourne is praised for being consistently on top of the detail of her cases, while consultant solicitor Helen Bishop is recognised for her representation of financial remedies clients. BHO BHO
A firm rooted in its community
Perhaps particularly pleasing for those who know BH&O through the B4 community is that the Legal 500 feedback goes beyond the firm’s legal expertise.
One testimonial praises the founding partners’ model of providing legal services rooted in their community, specifically recognising the firm’s commitment to giving back locally through initiatives ranging from school prom clothing and Christmas present collections to volunteering and awareness-raising activities.
Ruth added:
“A huge thank you to our brilliant team for everything they do, and to our clients for trusting us to support them. We’re very proud to see our work recognised.”
Congratulations to Ruth, Emily, Irena and the entire Boardman, Hawkins & Osborne team on a thoroughly deserved achievement — and another fantastic example of a B4 Member receiving national recognition for the quality of its work and its contribution to the community.
