Come and join B4 and Frilford Heath for a day on the Championship Red Course where teams representing Oxford City and Oxfordshire will compete for The Colin Rosser Cup.

About The Oxfordshire Golf Challenge

The Oxfordshire Golf Challenge brings together organisations from across the county for a competitive, high-energy day of golf inspired by the Ryder Cup. Taking place at Frilford Heath Golf Club on Monday 28th September 2026, the event pits two teams — Oxford City versus Oxfordshire County — in a tournament supporting Raise* whilst celebrating teamwork, camaraderie and friendly rivalry across the business community.

*please note funds will be raised for the charities benefiting from Raise (see www.raise4charity.co.uk) on the day through a raffle and on the day competitions such as longest drive and nearest the pin. No funds from the entry fee will be donated to Raise unless there is a surplus.

City vs County: Oxfordshire’s Ryder Cup

Led by team captains Justin Merritt (City) and Ben Procter (County), the challenge mirrors the excitement and structure of the Ryder Cup. Each side will field 40 business golfers, competing across multiple matches throughout the day. Every point contributes to the overall score, with the winning side lifting the prestigious Colin Rosser Cup. Whether you’re representing the blue of Oxford City or the green of Oxfordshire County, this is golf with purpose — and bags of personality.

Format of the Competition

The tournament features 2-v-2 matchplay fourballs, ensuring every pairing has the chance to influence the scoreboard. With 40 players per side, every result matters. Just like the traditional Ryder Cup, the magic number is 10½ points — the first team to reach that threshold wins the cup. The format guarantees excitement from start to finish, with rapid scoring swings, decisive pairings and plenty of opportunities for standout performances.

Businesses and individuals of all abilities are welcome to enter and if you would like to play with a colleague, please mention when entering.

Entry Fee

The entry fee is £150 + VAT per player.

With only 80 player places available, demand is expected to be high, so we recommend entering early.

About the Red Course

Laid out in 1908 by five-time Open champion J.H. Taylor — whose design expertise also shaped legendary courses like Royal Dornoch and Royal Birkdale — the Red Course is a gem celebrating traditional heathland golf in the club’s 440-acre estate. The Red Course has long been a stage for competition golf. The course has hosted everything from elite amateur tournaments to professional tours and we are very proud to be regular hosts of regional qualifying for the Open. In 2022, it reached a new pinnacle by welcoming the English Trophy as part of the European Challenge Tour, the largest event in its 116-year history. Amelia has worked as a Charity CEO since 2006, when she became Director of the Roald Dahl Museum in Great Missenden. After a stint there, she became CEO of Oxford University Student Union, and then CEO of SAPERE, the national charity that supports Philosophy for Children (P4C). Amelia joined Sobell House Hospice Charity in 2021.

About Sobell House

Founded in 1976, Sobell House Hospice is the largest palliative and end-of-life care provider in Oxfordshire. Working across OUH (Oxford University Hospitals), in the community and at our inpatient unit at Sobell House on the Churchill hospital site, we provide palliative and end of life care to over 4,000 people with life-limiting illnesses each year. Our aim is to help people live well for as long as they can and, when the time comes, help them have as good a death as possible. The service costs around £9 million to run each year.

Sobell House Hospice Charity Limited provides between £3 and £4 million every year to the NHS, which supports day-to-day activity, as well as our home hospice service, our hospital rapid discharge service, the hospital specialist teams, bereavement support, art and music therapies, social workers and benefits advisers, transport, catering and more.

Join us for a Burns Night Celebration Dinner

In association with Gavin Webster of the McKay clan and The Randolph Hotel Oxford, a Graduate by Hilton, B4 is delighted to present our fourth annual Burns Night on 22nd January, 2026.

Get dressed up with a touch of tartan to celebrate the Scottish poet and lyricist, Robert ‘Robbie’ Burns.

Following your arrival at The Randolph Hotel where you will be greeted by a bagpiper and a glass of prosecco, guests will be lead to the The Ballroom to be formally welcomed by our host, Gavin Webster, Holiday Inn, Oxford. Before dinner we will hear the Selkirk Grace and then sit down to Cullen Skink (Scottish soup) and the main course. This will be followed by the traditional ‘piping in’ of the Haggis. Gavin will address the haggis and recite the eight-verse traditional poem.

After the main course of haggis, ‘neeps & tatties’ we will hear a light-hearted poem from one of the B4 Members followed by Scottish Cranachan Cheesecake (whipped cream, oats, whisky and raspberries).

The dinner will close with a toast to Robert Burns.

Then the dancing! But don’t worry, we’ll be opening the bar first before the Ceilidh dancing begins!

Oxfordshire Business Summit 2027

Following the continued success of the Oxfordshire Business Summit, business leaders from across the county will once again gather at the iconic Blenheim Palace for one of the region’s most influential business events.

In partnership with Blenheim Palace, B4 is delighted to announce the provisional return of the Oxfordshire Business Summit on Thursday 13th May 2027.

To reward this year’s attendees with priority access, we are releasing an exclusive allocation of just 50 advance tickets at £400 + VAT ahead of the general public launch later this year.

As the date remains provisional pending final confirmation with the venue, all early purchasers will be contacted before the end of June 2026 with confirmed event details. At that stage, ticket holders will have a 30-day window to either:

• Confirm and retain their place
• Request a full refund
• Transfer their ticket to another delegate
