Mills & Reeve strengthens Oxford employment team with partner appointment

Mills & Reeve has appointed employment law specialist Peter Beisty as a partner in its Oxford office, further strengthening the firm’s employment, pensions and immigration (EPI) practice.

Peter joins Mills & Reeve from mpm legal solutions, where he played a key role in growing a highly regarded employment practice across the Thames Valley, earning recognition in the Legal 500, Chambers & Partners and The Times’ Best Law Firms.

The appointment comes at a pivotal time for employers as they prepare for the changes introduced by the Employment Rights Act 2025, including reforms to flexible working, unfair dismissal and trade union rights. As organisations navigate the impact of the Act, Mills & Reeve is well placed to support on the demand for strategic employment advice, compliance support and workforce planning.

Peter will work alongside William Downing, head of Mills & Reeve’s Oxford office and a partner in the firm’s EPI team, to assist in the continued growth of the practice locally and nationally.

His appointment will help drive the sector’s growth strategy, with a focus on supporting clients across food, automotive, charities and social enterprise, technology businesses including fintech, and ombudsman and complaint-handling services.
