LCMB Building Performance joins B4

24th Aug 2026

LCMB Building Performance, the Banbury-based building consultancy, has joined B4 as a Platinum member, bringing its independent, data-led approach to cutting building running costs, managing compliance and delivering net-zero plans to Oxfordshire’s business community.

LCMB isn’t an energy supplier or a contractor. It’s a team of independent building consultants that helps organisations running significant estates find the inefficiencies they didn’t know were there, put a financial number on them, and then fix them, with a guaranteed return on every recommendation. The work spans four things: cutting the total cost of running an estate, typically by 10–15%; handling statutory compliance such as EPCs, MEES and ESOS; running facilities management procurement – tendering and managing FM contracts to save money and reduce risk; and building and delivering costed net-zero roadmaps. Underpinning all of it is the company’s proprietary IQ Hub platform, which connects to a building’s systems and shows in real time where energy, money and space are being wasted.

John O’Brien, Founder and Managing Director at LCMB, comments: “We’re delighted to join B4. Oxfordshire has a real concentration of organisations managing complex estates under rising energy costs, tighter compliance and net-zero pressure – universities, heritage sites, hotels, manufacturers and public bodies. These are exactly the conversations we’re built for. We’re looking forward to contributing to B4’s thinking on sustainability and net zero, and to sharing honest, numbers-led advice with fellow members rather than another green pledge.”

“LCMB is a fantastic addition to the B4 community. Their practical, independent and data-led approach to building performance is particularly relevant at a time when organisations are under increasing pressure to control costs, meet compliance requirements and make genuine progress towards net zero. What really stands out is their focus on measurable results and clear financial returns rather than simply making promises. We’re delighted to welcome John and the LCMB team as Platinum members and look forward to them sharing their considerable expertise with the wider B4 community.” Richard Rosser, CEO, B4

LCMB already works with major public and private estate operators across the UK, including King’s College London, Oxfordshire County Council and Karcher. Across its client base it consistently delivers 15-20% energy reduction, 10-15% lower operating costs and a 2-5% productivity uplift.
